These beautiful pieces are inspired by the alpine environment of Victoria's North East. The cool unglazed and polished porcelain is reminiscent of hard-packed snow. The imagery of delicate, yet strong, alpine vistas wrap around the vessels in a never-ending landscape.
About the Artist
The Australian landscape, in all its diverse beauty, has long been a powerful inspiration for Wendy Jagger’s artworks. Her paintings form the backdrop for her renowned porcelain artworks, many of which are in public and private collections around the world.
Working from her purpose-built work space – Studio KanderField, situated in the pretty town of Mansfield in Victoria’s North East, Wendy combines working on the potter’s wheel with painting strong landscapes as well as teaching ceramic and ‘plein air’ painting workshops both in her studio and as an artist-in-residence in schools.
Sculpture is also becoming a part of her portfolio, designing pieces with her husband David, who is the construction and engineering part of this creative duo.
