Handcrafted in East Gippsland out of recycled scrap silver and copper this material is an ancient Japanese alloy called Shibuichi. The colours are created naturally using heat, so they will begin to adapt and change over time.
About the Artist
Jill Hermans completed her Honours degree in Fine Arts at Monash University in 2009 and has since moved back to East Gippsland to enjoy a sustainable lifestyle, off grid, in the bush. Her practice is based upon materials, processes and techniques driven by an endless fascination with the reactions between metals, oxides, enamel and flame.
